About the event
The CAN Foundation presents Somewhere In Between, a group exhibition featuring new work by CANtemporary Artists-in-Residence: Matthew Steven Pierce, Amber Pierce, and Michael Fletcher. On view from May 3 through August 31, 2025, at the CAN Offsite Gallery in City Center at Oyster Point, the exhibition marks the culmination of the artists’ shared time in residency. The opening reception will take place on May 3, 2025 from 6-9 p.m.
Somewhere In Between features two- and three-dimensional works and an immersive installation, exploring themes of identity, transition, reflection, and presence—what the artists have come to call “the In-Between.” The exhibition's title reflects a state of becoming, a threshold between what has been and what is yet to come. The works are rooted in personal storytelling and self-inquiry, each artist weaving elements of their lived experiences, evolving identities, and interior landscapes into their creative process.
